This event is organised by the Insurance Law Association, Singapore (ILAS). Jonathan Bellamy will discuss the purpose, use and interpretation of aggregation clauses and event limits in insurance contracts generally and in the light of the recent appeal court judgment in AIG Europe where the courts considered the language “similar acts or omissions in a series of related matters or transactions” in the solicitors’ professional indemnity sector. Jonathan will also provide a brief update on legal and market responses to the Insurance Act 2015, in force since August 2016.
