Investors in China have witnessed significant developments in the securities market over the past decade. The securities market has suffered from frequent and severe setbacks, the aborted circuit breaker rule, and under-regulated takeover activities. Chinese courts and stock market regulators have reacted to these changes. The Chinese legislature has embarked on a legislative programme to overhaul the PRC Securities Law.
