This event is jointly organized by Justice Without Borders, Tan Kok Quan Partnership and WMH Law Corporation. This workshop will cover legal developments resulting from recent Court of Appeal cases on illegality and consider its relevance to the issue of illegal deployment of migrant workers in Singapore in light of the provisions in the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act. The session will also consider the legal avenues available to migrant workers seeking compensation for work done if they are illegally deployed, with an emphasis on the causes of action available in contract and in restitution.
