The word “metaverse” frequently pops up in our conversations about a future where our avatars interact in virtual worlds. In this virtual space, people from the world may socialise, work, play, learn and shop; technologies like video-conferencing shade into experiences in MMORPG games; and virtual assets like cryptocurrencies and virtual experiences like AR are all integrated. However, how much do we really know about how the laws regulating the physical world would apply to the “metaverse”?
