Event Outline

The Singapore Penal Code comprehensively declares the general principles of criminal responsibility with room for interpretation of its provisions, enabling courts to expound and apply them to achieve justice in emerging cases. This has been done to good effect, often by referencing approaches of other legal systems. This course will discuss some key areas where comparative analysis has occurred, and examine laws of other legal systems not previously considered by our courts and legislators.
