Event Outline

This event is organized by Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA). SCMA and 36 Stone have organised an in-person seminar on issues concerning Bills of Lading (“BL”) today. We will consider the Singapore and UK legislations for e-BLs, and the challenges arising. Panelists shall then discuss how banks secure their interest in cargo, and whether these methods confer title to sue. Lastly, there shall be discussion about Herculito Maritime Limited v Gunvor International BV [2021] EWCA Civ 1828 (“The Polar”), a marine insurance decision before the UK Supreme Court.
