Event Outline

The lecture, based on work with Jessica Hudson, examines standing rules in trust law. While beneficiaries are often seen as having exclusive enforcement rights, legislation and caselaw allow wider standing. Existing rules conflict with the beneficiary principle, challenge the notion of ‘directed’ trustee duties, and suggest standing is better justified as supporting trust parties’ choices and self-actualisation.
