The term “Western constitutionalism” is misleading: Western systems differ, resemble non Western ones, and origins don’t define a model used globally. Such labels invite divisive counterparts and obscure constitutionalism’s universality. This lecture calls for framing constitutionalism as a universal human technology, not a Western one.
