This event is organised by Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration. The insurance of war and related perils goes back centuries. However, in a world of special military operations and narco-terrorists, are the meanings historically given to these perils fit for the times? Drawing on recent case law, including the English Commercial Court’s decision in the Russian Aircraft Lessor Policy Claims [2025] EWHC 1430 (Comm), the speakers will consider developments in the interpretation of the war and related perils from both English and Singaporean perspectives and whether there may be scope for future adaptation.
