The Insurance Act 2015 introduced significant changes to insurance contract law, amending or repealing central provisions of the Marine Insurance Act 1906. In force since August 2016, it marks its tenth anniversary this August. The reforms are broadly welcome, but questions remain about consistency within insurance contract law, consistency with general contract law, and the optimal level of legislative detail.
