This event is organised by National University of Singapore - Centre for International Law. Nuclear reactors could power mining and human settlements on the Moon, but their deployment requires a clear legal framework. This lecture examines how international space law and nuclear law apply to lunar reactors and whether existing rules can address their challenges. It also explores what a future framework for “space nuclear law” might look like as nuclear energy becomes increasingly important to exploration of the Moon and beyond. The discussion considers legal gaps and future regulation.
