This seminar, organized by the Insurance Law Association Singapore, will address the issues of waiver and estoppel. Waiver and estoppel have been sources of repeated legal and practical difficulties for commercial parties, including insurers. Even the very definition of waiver and estoppel is fraught with difficulty. Until recently, the two doctrines were used interchangeably and with a great deal of confusion. This lecture seeks to address the difficulties in this area with a focus on the insurance industry.
